ABOUT US

Jacqui & David Scadden have been breeding pedigree cats since 1984.

We started with Sealpoint and Bluepoint Birmans and since then have breed a wide variety of colours, including Chocolatepoint, Lilacpoint, Redpoint, Creampoint and Tortiepoints.

In the past few years we have concentrated on our Chocolatepoints and Lilacpoints, gaining considerable success with them both here and overseas. We have recently purchased a Seal Tortie girl and so will once again be breeding Torties, Reds and Creams.

Our daughter Rachel has now got her own prefix "MagwaiBabe" and hopes to breed Blues, Torties and perhaps Tabbies as well.

We became interested in Bengals a few years ago and purchased our first cats in 1996. We have been slowly developing the breed here, with a lot of promotion throughout the country. We own Brown Spotted, Brown Marble & Snow Spotted Bengals. The Bengals have done very well on the show bench here, placing well in the annual NZCF awards for the last 5 years.

David is a Senior Longhair Judge with the New Zealand Cat Fancy Inc and a Junior Shorthair Judge as well.

David has been involved with the cat fancy in a variety positions over the years. At present he is on the Judges Council of the New Zealand Cat Fancy.

We have three small children - Rachel aged 11, William aged 9 and Jeremy who is 4.

Both Jacqui & David work for UCOL @ Wairarapa, David is Head of Computing & Jacqui facilitates the "free & Easy" computing courses, both based in Masterton. One of our latest ventures has been the formation of the www.breeders.co website in an effort to help breeders around the country have a greater exposure to the general public.

We live on a 20 acre farmlet, just south of Greytown in the sunny Wairarapa. This region is located in the south eastern area of the North Island of New Zealand.
This area is gaining a fine reputation with the vineyards of Martinborough and the craft shops and cafes of historical Greytown.
